HuskMitNavn – WANDERLUST
13 April – 22 May 2021
Charlotte Fogh Gallery proudly presents “WANDERLUST” – a solo exhibition by HuskMitNavn with new paintings and drawings – among others the characteristic paper-cut drawings as well as works where the frame is part of the work’s narrative.
The works at “WANDERLUST” revolve around the theme of alienation – a feeling that for people all over the world has gained new relevance and significance in the past year. HuskMitNavn observes and illustrates quirky everyday situations and interprets them with humor and warmth in his well known line. Suburban and family life, pranks, troubled children and teenagers with big dreams – they are all there, and they all dream both big and small dreams of a different life – and a different place.
HuskMitNavn’s easily recognizable style has placed him among one of the most significant and innovative artists in Denmark and internationally. Over the years HuskMitNavn’s visual language has evolved from being mainly graffiti on large scale surfaces highlighted by a black contour to become more picturesque where the artist combines techniques from graffiti with classic artistic styles. HuskMitNavn’s methods of working on canvas and paper can be compared to great Danish artists such as Wilhelm Lundstrøm, Henry Heerup and Edward Weie.
HuskMitNavn has shown works at various Danish and international art museums and art galleries. The artist is part of both private and public collections with include ARoS Aarhus Art Museum, the National Gallery of Denmark, Design Museum Denmark, The New Carlsberg Foundation and The Danish Arts Foundation.
WANDERLUST is the first solo exhibition in Charlotte Fogh Gallery’s new premises on Aaboulevarden in Aarhus.
