Pernille Pontoppidan Pedersen

Forskudt barre / Uneven bars

25/4 – 7/6

Opening Friday the 25th of April,  17-19 hour

Charlotte Fogh Gallery is delighted to present the solo exhibition “Uneven Bars” by Pernille
Pontoppidan Pedersen. The exhibition, which is the artist’s first solo exhibition in the gallery, shows ceramic works as well as reliefs and sculptures. Through her artistic practice, Pernille explores the potential of materials – clay, granite and wool – and creates new perspectives on topics such as motherhood, interconnectedness and relationships.

In this exhibition, Pernille Pontoppidan Pedersen has worked with sculptural studies of the
concept of families. In juxtapositions between objects, shapes and creatures, she shows how
everything is connected – we are all made of the same stuff. She finds inspiration in the abstract, in the everyday life, as well as in science fiction literature, from which she can freely build new and imaginative worlds.

Pernille Pontoppidan Pedersen (b. 1987) graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2012. She lives and works in Silkeborg, Denmark. Pernille has exhibited widely in Denmark as well as at international exhibitions: HB381 in New York, Untitled in Miami, Galerie Maria Lund in Paris and 21 st. Century Museum of Contemporary Art in Kanazawa. Pontoppidan Pedersen's work is represented in private and public collections at, among others, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, CLAY Museum of Ceramic Art and the Danish National Art Foundation.
