MORTEN SCHELDE

Morten Schelde observes and interprets moments of everyday life by meticulously drawing scenes from his own life and experiences but also from imagination. The works by Morten Schelde reflect how we constantly move in and out of different rooms with or without a purpose. Numerous different perspectives and compositions appear in Schelde’s works which highlight the unexpected experiences of life and how time sometimes feel frozen or moving too fast. Symbols of vanitas is often found in the works by Morten Shelde reminding the viewer of the temporality of life. Taking inspiration from the Still-life genre Schelde creates different settings and universes that appear realistic but also dream like.
